First ever sized cod

At very long last my first ever sized cod tad on small size but I'm guna hav to eat it 42cm 1.8lb. Only went out to use up some left over worm sea was flat so wasn't expecting much but hey my biggest cod yet. Taken on plain rag of the headland prom hpool also got a small rockling

I have pretty much abandoned hope from Hartlepool past couple years, even from the Heugh which once upon a time was always reliable.

So a cod that size is a result mate, well done...still have a picture of my first ever size cod from Horden beach - was chuffed for a full 24hrs, great feelin!

theres been lots of cod from hartlepool in the last month. even from the heugh if your in the right spot when conditions are right.

Aye ur right I've been on the heugh on 2 separate occasions in last few weeks when ther been 5lb pulled in. Had 2 just under size of bandstand couple weeks back so this has been due.

Cheers lads and hopfully many more to come done better already than I did all last winter out of the 4 I've had 3 hav been bigger than any previous cod from last year

I'm just being greedy mate, when I say there are no fish I mean there are no biggins!
In my experience the Heugh especially used to be a fair shot in the right conditions for 5+lbrs every time with the ocassional doubler pulled up the steps.

They seem very few and far between now

Someone prove me wrong and pull a doubler in off Hartlepool -

Well done on your p/b codling . looking at the sea were you meaning farther along to the left towards the old pipe pier as I am not sure of the area and where is the staincliffe beach. Hope all your fish get bigger.
