Fishing in France

Anybody been fishing in France? Where are the best places to try and what species/tackle/tactics are best to try?

If its sea fishing youre after mate, then virtually anywhere down the west coast. Very similar to our south coast with Bass, Pollack, Conger etc.
If its BIG course species then Charente area (French lakeland) is excellent for Big Carp and MONSTER Catfish.
