Taynuilt is not the best mark.
The first church on the north bank is the most consistent and you only have to walk 50 yards.
Big tides are the best.Fish either side of the beck.
If you can put a bait a long way you can get fish at all times of the tide.
If not, half down to half up.
Mostly Thornies in daylight, more Spurs in darkness.
The windsock just outside the Connel bridge is also a good mark for Spurs in the dark, but there are more LSD,s here. Also,if you get strong Westerlies you can get a lot of weed here.
The Priory (second church)further up the north side can be good as well, fish half down half up.Better in darkness.Fish the point 100yds to the left of the church gates where you park.
The best bait by far is a 3 inch piece of Launce sandeel with a strip of squid lashed to it.Macky will also take fish.
Have a 6 inch piece of wire or heavy braid to your hook as the Spurs can bite through 80lb mono.
Its worth having waders on as there is some weed close in and you may have to wade a few yards to get fish through it.
Also, take some form of shelter as it can lash with rain up there.
