Fishing the beach next to the Huff

Does anybody have any experience of fishing on the beach to the right of the Huff?

I'm looking to fish there on Friday as I don't think it will be possible to get on the pier itself due to the high wind and waves. Looking on google maps it seems I could fish of the rocks at low tide and on the beach at high.

What's the ground like? Does it produce decent fish?

the ground is very rough so use rotten bottoms , but if the sea is coming over the heugh there should be plenty of fish there. best spot so i,ve been told is half way between the heugh and the pilot pier. good luck mate. p.s try steetly if you don,t get anything there, you should bag up:red:

I believe the spot is known as London rock. Never fished there in all my years because it looks like a nightmare for gear loss.

Thanks for the info, I would like to try Steetly as I've had success there before but I'm reluctant to leave the car near there.

Hello peeps , go to the semi-circle of rocks ( the old swimming pool) look over towards the steps on the heugh. If you head in line for the steps , the rocks slope away into the water and the kelp . It does produce bigger fish , but it is death valley for your tackle. It is rough ground all the way back to the little pier . Don't get cut off by the tide , it sneaks in .
