Just a few images from a recent session way up north.

My first shore caught Haddock, one of many in the first night (probably in excess of 20, some to 3lb)

Loads of whiting, they get everywhere

but with fish to 2lb + who cares

Even the dab are of a good average size, a 2lb dab is considered as nothing special.
This one at well over 1lb swallowed a 6/0 big mouth xtra.

Clearly its way up north................ Iceland in fact. Must say a big thank you to Peter Thain, who guided me round the marks and the Island. After 3 nights of fishing (working during the day) I was knackered and almost (but not quite) looking forward to the flight to Norway where I could at least get a few hrs kip to catch up with myself.

I would recommend Peter and Steve's Icelandic Fishing Adventures, these guys probably know more about shore fishing in Iceland than anyone else alive (non of the locals bother too much with bait fishing from the shore its all lure fishing up there), they don't know what they are missing, although I think they may be coming round to it soon.

Check out http://www.dreamfish.is Give it a go, you know it makes sense.

Cheers

what a belter session mate ,now thats what i call catching fish and all was edible stuff, some other species what peeps target aint ,but thats a cracking report mate welldone

Its not cheap, but......... cheaper than I expected.

Flight out (single) to Reykjavik was £115.

Hotel was £295 (for 3 nights), but B&B can be as cheap as £30-£40 per night.

Cost of a guide depends on how many and for how long.

I flew on to Tromso so I don't know how much a return flight would be, but at a guess you'd probably get there and back for around £200.

Have a look at http://www.dreamfish.is for further details and other options.

Cheers

Jealous as owt

Jealous as owt

Nice one mate - V Good pics

I know what I'll be asking for from Santa (although I'll prob not get it)

The pics of those huge Wolf fish on the site look scary - they look like they're related in some gigantic way to the common Blenny (rock goby)...I'm glad I didn't catch any of those in the Whitley Bay rock pools when I was a nipper!!!!

Great stuff Doc ,like most on here I'm at the thinking about it stage ,it looks fantastic. Looks like Peter's doing well up there ,great to hear it.
