fished duridge bay yesterday. had 8 flounders size and 6 undersize. also a nice turbot. fills the time in till sea comes away.:)

good session you had there

What setup were u using ?
2-3 hook flapper with beads or with out and what was that bait you were using, and do you use a fixed lead or a plane bomb...thx

oh and were you casting far or small lobs, sounds like a deacent place to take the kids,if its nice and calm.

Well done, mate at least you had a bit of sport and caught, not many cod about so hopefully the sea will come away soon.

top man! hope you showed the turbot the respect it deserves - (lightly grilled with a splash of lemon juice :D)

not had a nice bit of turbot for ages!

flatties

just to reply to enquires. i was in front of the pipe in the middle of the beach. there is a high water hole with 2 entrances. tried left one first and only got undersized ones. moved to the right entrance and thats where the bigger ones were. the turbot was returned as it was 29cm. bait is ragworm tipped with mackerel on a 2 hook flapper. put 3 worms on but make sute you leave half the worm dangling so it riggles in the water. i use a flattie fanatic rod with a 3 oz plain led so it rolls about. i also drag the bait a yard every couple of minutes to make them attack the bait. fixed spool reel loaded with 15lb main line and 30 lb shock or 30lb braid straight through. cast only have to be lobbed 20 to 50 yds. its great for the kids to teach them and other beaches producing now are warkworth and embleton. ther have been turbot to 3lb in previous years and feb is the best month. one more thing my hook lenthgs are about 4ft and made from 27lb berkly vanish flourocarbon[invisible in water] tip for you. just before you cast dip your bait in the water. this stops the worms snapping when you cast. hope this helps.
