Float Tubes

Aye I've seen them on Sweethope, Asked a bloke about it at Tunstall and he wasn't too sure but did stoke his beard several times before getting back into the usual "Dawsons Olive Rant" I fancy it myself but would worry about getting my legs nibbled by pike and under water monsters we don't know about yet. :o

could a float tube be used to fly fish for pike as i fish the lochs over the west coast of scotland cause was thinking about them kayaks but the tubes are cheaper, just wondering

I'm sure they could Vamp, I fish there too for pike. But I take an aweful lot of gear with me when I go so a float tube wouldn't be an option. I suppose if you just took one rod and a few lures you could get away with it........... till you caught the fish of a lifetime and it was thrashing about in front of you in 20ft of water , with a size 4/0 hook hanging from it's mouth , not to mention all those razor sharp teeth next to your nice inflatable tube

How much do they cost? I have a vague recollection they are about £2-£300?
Maybe you could hire one for a day to see what it's like first?
