last week caught a 5lb cod at the copthorne and been down tonight and everything was small

Well done Stevie, that's a nice fish. Keep at it as there are some nice fish in the river this year. I have heard of a fish of 8lb at Hebburn whilst I've had a few around the 4lb mark from Jarrow and Hebburn.

stevieanderson1, the river is funny sometimes you get canny codling and the next tide they are smaller, your 5lber is a lovely fish...well done again.
Try a bit further down the River if you can, it can make all the difference.
