Friendly comp

Just a thought. Does anyone fancy a Tyne v wear biggest bag friendly comp a couple of times this season? Obviously it would have to be honest posts of each boats bag. Just thought it would be a canny thing to look forward to and a bit good crack.

I would be interested and dont mean to be a pain but could it just be single H/F 1st, 2nd and 3rd?

I dont often keep fish and chuck 90% of the cod and ling back, i would hate to kill just for a comp, no use for it as i rather fish for fun than keep it to just give away to every man and his dog or cat

Could have heaviest bag richy. Record the weight and release what you don't want. Whatever you thin thinks best really pal. Was just gathering interest before sorting it out properly.

Why not just an individual boat comp either on a certain day or better week.

Should never be "biggest bag" its savage to take (ala Whitby) ungutted just seized cod and ling home

I' d go for a simple and plain "biggest fish comp" and maybe find a sponsor. Even better to involve a charity cause. Andy Rutherford might be the guy to speak to organising it

Sounds a whole load of fun .... And a good chance to meet others ... As a none boat owner I wondered if this would be open to charter boats ? As this is currently the only way I can get out.... I'm sure lots of folk would like to be involved.......

Sounds good to me Mark. If it's just a bit of light fun, then keep it dead simple.
If it's all done on trust, probably best to go with a heaviest fish comp asking over the radio if anyone has one much bigger, so weather to put it back or not if you don't want to keep many. Might work. Good time could be June.

It sounds good Mark; count me in and any of my usual crew if they are interested, if not I’ll offer the space closer to the time of the comp. I agree with Richy that a HSF comp makes sense and will be easier to run.

What times and date do you have in mind, not too early I hope. The late May bank holiday could be a good date or a weekend when Neptune lets the Seaham lads out of their tidal marina to join in.
