Dont dis the old fixed spool, i still use the original diawa longcast spool on a 13ft paul kerry. never had a one tangle or blown cast since i got it many years ago. And as a combo it moves lead. Multi's do have casting and retreve advantages, but for general day to day a quality fixed spool is hassle free fishing.

first time ive ever tried it :D

Well always worth a go to learn. :)

My next door neighbor who got me into fishing, and has been fishing for 56yrs now :o and still going strong though not as often, always uses the back-cast for fishing, and god does he get some distance, great to watch, certainly some technique behind it.

I'm still amazed at how far u get that back cast bob, and thanks to my new technique I managed to land my lead right in front of a nice 6.5lber on Friday.

Nice one James well done mate
