Frozen Peeler - Online

HI All,

Been struggling to get frozen peeler recently in any large number from local shops.

Bought 60 online and they arrived today and the are whole crabs that have not had the shell or lungs removed before freezing.

I thought you peeled and de-lunged them before you froze them ?

Will these still be ok as they weren't particularly cheap !

That's not good mate,they should be wrapped and ready for use not just frozen without dressing........bad.

Had them before from a local shop and they looked ok, ie not stinking. they are probably quickly frozen so should be ok. Just keep them in a good quality flask when going on a sesh and take out and peel them as necessary. Peeling the ones I got was hard work like plus I caught f*** all with them

where did you get them from most online places just blat freeze them in the shell, saves them time as peeling down 1000's off crab and wrapping would take them ages.

i made the mistake of buying some last year just like you and caught naff all on 110 crab m8.

There from a place down in Devon !

All the ones if bought before have been peeled and wrapped individually - if I wanted to peel them I would have had some live ones shipped in !

Fingers crossed they are ok otherwise I've spent £60 on ****e

i had frozen a couple poppers last year in the shells for quickness ,lungs still in too ,took them out one night on seaham pier ,hey they came out ok defrosted no blackness as some think ,actually they peeled perfect as if they was fresh they still caught fish

Will give them a try but still after more for the winter season if you can recommend anywhere who can do me 50+ shelled and frozen.

Glad I only bought the 60 now and not 100

Also after a bulk block of unwashed squid and some mussels if anyone knows where ?

Also if theyve been blast frozen they should still be okay the way they are
