Gares

Anyone know if theres anything getting caught at either the
north or south gares, and is the gate permantly open at the north gare,
as wouldnt mind a few hours fishing into darkness, cheers.

was talking to a guy when fishing on saltburn pier the other morning and he said there catching flatties & whiting over the south gare

at the south gare the gates are closed but theres a walk through gap in the fence people use havnt been over since last year lost too much gear there

Cheers Ash, but been told to stay away from the s/gare this week as it could get a bit dodgy on there as the sea is going to be a bit rough.

The sea will be to big to fish either Gare this week they are both dodgy piers with any swell on. Your only option for the North gare is the rocks in the estury side fishing tide a few down / up.

The car park used to operate on the rule 'if tehres a car in it, the security leave it open'.... but I got locked in a couple of weeks back and had to call the security firm to get out. Some some numpty from the Wildlife trust decided after 10 years theres no trouble in the car park anymore so it better get locked! so no idea whats happening with it now.

if fishing the north gare into darkness its always best to park at the zinc works... its only a 15 min walk to the pier from there or 15 min to the river channel.. plus the added bonus of being parked next to security for the zinc works your car is a lot safer than the car park
