Well after a bit of internet surfing i found a good supplier of glow sticks\"chemical lights\" that you snap
These are about 7-8 inches long and about 6mm thick !
Ordered 100 green- 100 mixed-and 100 tri-colour
Yesterday was the big tri-out-day and they are great and work really well ! 3 of us out a total boat catch of 25 cod 3 ling and 2 pollock !!
and my contribution was 13 cod 3 ling and 2 pollock so it speaks for its self .... :)
Just taped one to my pirk and BINGO !!
It might be me being a lucky bugger but What do you`s think ???
Is anyone else giving them a try ? I think its still early for the pirks anyway so anything that gives you an edge over the rest of the crew must be a bonus ;) ;)

suppose you could also make a cavity in a 7\" grub and insert a few smaller glow sticks! Got to give you an edge if there is any colour in the water.

Might try that out of Hartlepool in a couple of weeks.

I don\'t think you are a lucky bugger!!!

I KNOW you are!!! :D :D

Only joking, as you say results speak for themselves!!

bert you didnt say how much they cost you but you can get the same glow sticks from poundland [ or you use 2 be able 2 ] you get 15 different colours in the tube unless some kiddie has already decided to snap them lol

There past sort code so not all work ! thats where i got the idea from...
i got 300 delivered to my door for £22 and thats cheap

Hej
Chemical light works for sure. I haven\'t tried the glowsticks, but I use the military kind of fabrics that are jused for roadsigns in the dark. I tape it around my bar-pirks. I also use the glow-in-the-dark tubing on some rigs when the fishing is at very deep depths.
There is one more advantage with it ...you can track your lost tackle with a geiger-meter :o

Bert, I,ve been using glow sticks for some time now with some success. As to cost, you can pick them up in your local pound shop, there,s usually about 20 in a box.

wish Id read this post a bit earlier :casstet: as my boating season is about over... might try the glow sticks with the shore fishing over the winter tho ..see if it improves my catch rate

Hi Bert, I dip in and out of NESA, but I reside in East Anglia, so dont see anyone socialy. Interesting info about the glow sticks. Though of using small ones when anchored bait fishing for cod around this area. Any chance of the contact address or Web site so I can get some on order.
Thanks , regards, CJS (Cliff)
PS, I have a proxy association, partner, the long suffering Hazel, is a Hartlepool lass, most of her 9 brothers and sisters still live in the area. Hazel still get a little fiesty if I refer to a certain monkey! LOL Norman and I go back a year or two as well in another life, ah Norm?

Aye Cliff the link is as follows and they are about the same price as your local poond shop but these are new stock with a shelf life !Whereas the poond shop stuff is oot of date and some of them dont work when snapped
I`m having great success with them and i thinkthey will take off big time as a lure :D :D :D :D
