My fav shot in the Tyne. Fish in front of the trees before you go up the hill. You can get a car on the grass. Fish it on a med tide with a two hook flapper. Cast in between the boat and the boye they about 100 apart. I always fish it 2hrs up 2hrs down. I've had some good fish from it with all baits. The ground is fairly clean but you can get snagged at times but not very often. Hopes this helps tight lines.
After the last boat, you can get car on, but be carefull, nearly had mine stuck their once on the wet grass/mud, and yes small to medium tide are best! I prefer to fish another 100 yards or so up from the bouy, because by the boat and bouy can be rather shaggy
have you tried the jetty a bit further upstream? its the one where you cant get past the gate with a car, but can park at the top of the bank and walk down a bit.
No boats or buoys there, but never been. Not sure about leaving car there tbh
There's not many places to park in the riverside park and leaving your car unattended there is not a good idea. You can park in South Drive (turn off Victoria Road). Drive past the football ground entrance and park as near as you can to the end. There is a pedestrian crossing over the metro line - just walk through here and follow the path down the hill past the allotments to get to the river. This brings you out just above the "grassy bank" mark, or you can walk left to the jetty or right to the marina.
