"green Tax"

It's been all over the news today. I'm quite conservation minded and wouldn't mind paying a couple of bob more towards the future as long as the rest of the world joined in, especially the USA and China. I'd also like to see some assurance that the levy wouldn't be spent on Ministrys and ministers with huge salaries, expense accounts and big black cars, although it will be

It stinks of "jobs for the boys".

Why dont they simply use the extra "proposed" levy on alcohol towards the environment, then all the teenage binge drinkers will be saved as well as the planet and it's just old plonkies like me that will suffer

If they forced all new build houses to have wind generators, solar panels and ground source heat pumps for central heating it would make a hell of a difference, and also offer it to current house holders at a significant reduction (more than the paltry grant you can get if your lucky)but then where would they get the tax from for all this free energy we could benefit from? Same with Hydrogen powered cars that apparenetly have been in development and are run solely on water. According to the craik at work today. Even if we produced zero emisssions of Co2 this year it would take China only 80 days to produce what we would have.....Nice eh!

Your spot on there jim, diabolical how the authorities miss-use the theme "green" just to cream more taxes, of course there`ll be loads of officials to monitor how the money`s ,err I mean green policies are going so their cost will have to come from somewhere ..... US again ! (thats`s us not USA of course. !)

If we got rid of the officials who are monitoring the officials who are sorting strategy and policies for the officials to track and monitor than there wouldn`t be any need for any officials in the first place ... wow how green that would be .....

isn't it about time we started saying no and revolting, we need a revolution, i think sometimes we need to to take a leaf out of the french book of standing up for ourselves. this country is slowly becoming a comunist state, we cant say what we think, do what we want, we all have to do as we are told and its getting worse

cheers
