The American firm Pure Fishing has bought Hardy/Greys. They are a huge global tackle distributer and already have several other well known brands like Penn, Abu and Shakespeare.
There are ten jobs being made redundant which is a real shame not least because it's a North East company with a great heritage.
It's well worth a look at the shop as the museum is very interesting and there is often some good deals on rods and clothing.
