Aren't the platinum xs and the proto type different rods?

Just trying to google a little info about the rod

I've got a platinum gsi and it's a very good rod.....these are very similar.

Great to cast with, great bite detection and great on beach or rocks!

Great price aswell

I got one when they came on the market and nearly sold it 2 years later, but glad I kept it .
A great rough ground rod, or for beach work when the rollers are big, and you need a bit poke and extra height
