Not limited edition but the pz300t as far as l remember was along with the very snap friendly SRX were the last two Greys top end beach rods made in the UK at the Northumberland factory.

Not long after they came out l think all Greys UK sea rod production was stopped locally, where the limited edition story comes from probably, and the new tendancy to source cheap blanks from the far east started.

Like l say may be wrong but Greys were of the main rod builders in the UK were the first company to do this, beginning of the end for them and a reputation as a top quality rod supplier like it or not.

Rumour had it at the time a finished fully built imported Greys far east supplied rod cost the company the princely sum of £25.

Thanks for that very interesting info
No wonder they switched production if thats the level of profit they could achieve! hasnt done there reputation much good though
I just recently sold my new model grays apollo match, to be honest though it wasnt a bad rod, the finish was excellent
It just didnt fit in for any of the sort of fishing i am doing at the min

Going back quite a few years now since the move to far east imports, as with anything anywhere practice makes if not perfect but better, there quality has improved over the years, but when it comes to beach rods British is still best.
