whats the best grip lead 2 hold bottom in big sea fished whitby a few times last year when the sea was away dident hold bottom as well as some blokes but was useing the same weight grip leads got dragged round most casts some thing i deffo need 2 get sorted i have used thinner lines helps a bit

Can depend on how far you cast mate. Getting over the breakers is an advantage but sometimes casting far out where theres plenty of tide can whip you right round..

Sometimes it's just plain and simply unfishable

grip leads

Remove the rollers and bend the wires as tight as you can into the grooves and a dca tournament beach bomb gripper or UK hooks gripper or namix hybrid tournament gripper are all good.

Best thing to aid good grip is a long tail wire, about 4 inches or so - really helps anchor the lead. Longer "DCA" type sinkers also hold better than short, squat types. In conjunction with 7" grip-wires and thinner line (if the situation allows) you should be able to hold unless it truly is "unfishable".

Gary :)
