It had to happen soon! Not the 15lb elusive cod but a silly o clock start!
It was up to the marina and off out the piers before quarer past four yesterday. There was a bit of broken water at the entrance but nothing too bad. The first sunrise photo of the season;

We hit the first wreck and it was the same story as Wednesday for me, lots of good table 3-5lb fish. We moved on and the drift speed was fantastic with a slight south easterly swell. The net wreck Micky started puffing and panting saying he had a yarker on, unfortunatley it turned out to be two!!!! Unlucky!

We moved again and a suspicious looking vessel approached at speed!

After a while on that wreck with Ray we headed a bit closer in and tried a another couple of wrecks and ground on the way in. The fish were still there but the drift speed became super fast after slack water and virtually unfishable on the wrecks.
We had a first for the boat today in the first Gurnard caught by myself! Minutes later Micky got one as well!

I am going to give it one last shot for the 15lb cod before I dissapear back to work for six weeks, I would still love to catch a catfish/wolffish as well!

Graham.

Yeh, that would have been a nice double for Micky, but two cracking fish all the same, nice one.:D. To catch that wolf fish, your gonna need a red hooded pirk.lol. never seen one for a long time now, used to get the odd ones at whitley a few years ago, but good luck in your quest for one.
