Alright lads,

Me and my mate John B fished from 7pm to 12.30am,the tide was quite strong but i was using a continental rod R8 and fixed spool Penn 8000 with 50lb braid and it cut through the tide no problem,i had 3 tommys,1 rockling and a sooper dooper dab about 1lb 6oz and 36cm long [pic attatched] my mate done the old blankety blank unfortunatley, but a lad beside us had a codling around 2 to 2 1/2lb
Good rods for not being dragged around by the tides espescially with braid[not converted altogether but getting there]

Cheers

Tony

I was gonna say the same, there seems to be a shelf which grabs every decent fish I hook. Well done mate.

groyne used to be a big problem for me, until they dredged the area withw a massive dredger when second tunnel was built you could hear the boulders etc getting dregded up the tube and the debri on the ends of the scoop was amazing , 2 skips on end of boat was chokka with cable, steel poles and alike that looked at least 2--3" thick, and since then never had real problem with end of groyne, mind you never seem to catch as much now when i fish it

Agreed Bob... Not as fishy as it used to be. Casting straight out off the end seems to be clean ground aswell. Never had much from there although my old man has had a 10lb+ cod from there a good few years back.
