caught one a few years ago, horrible,horrible, thing, thought it was something out of Alien,I landed it and all this Gloop came out of it, like a runny jelly type of thing,just watched BBC 2 a prog called natures weirdest events, showed how the hag fish defends its self , very good, unless you catch one , made a right mess of everything I had, Gloop everywere,

Only ever had 1 coupleyears ago in a club match on tynemouth pier horrible little ******* slime everywhere not dangerous but slimy

Dont think so, just make a very big mess when you catch them, there like pink eels with a lot more attitude, YUCH,

Horrid things... Had one on shields a couple of months ago... Bin the hooks and hook length and anything else it touched... Cod stay well away from them

at times your gear can get trashed by them most casts on shield pier.
