I'm on the hunt for a light beach rod for plaice etc in the summer and saw one of these rods in a shop earlier. Anyone got any experience of using one?

Hi, never used a P1, but I would recommend you look at a Sonik NCT to meet your requirements.
They are made from nano carbon and are super light and strong, with excellent bite detection. Ideal in my opinion for flatties.
