Hello lads went down to the pool today to take me dad out again.Thought i,d chuck the gear in the motor just in case.
There was a massive surf on the prom so decided to give it a go. Set up on the beach 2pm. Had £8 worth of good rag from Charlies.
Two rods out for Bass. 6oz was struggling to hold bottom.Had my box on a rock behind me when a rouge wave struck and knocked the box over and into the drink. Bugger - bait gone and everything soaking.
Thought i,m not going to give in after first cast so went back to Charlies and bought some new worm.
Decided on the Heugh for second attempt looking for a big cod. Some big rollers coming in and i got a bit worried at one point-wind got up and it was the Cod season all over again-minus the fish.
Cold wet and windy. Couple of other lads came on who gave up after a couple of hours. 6PM and i,d had enough.
The hot day at the reservoir seemed a million miles away.
Oh and i can,t get the spiggot out of my second rod!.
Mick.

My missus told me not to bother-and she was right.
Just rinsing and drying all me stuff out now-even me reel got wet with salt water-Charlie let me rinse it in his sink.
Boat fishing and fly fishing till the macky show me thinks.

Hammer, chisel and vice and i got the spiggot out at work today in the handy mans workshop-its only an old second rod i take along to keep me busy and it survived to fish another day.
gear cleaned reel oiled and all back hibernating in the shed.
