Has anyone tried micro fishing?

I had a go at catching fish in rockpools today with very little success, had a few bites but could not hook the fish. It may be that smaller hooks are required as I was using 16 and 18s, tricky to get bait on them lol. The few ulrf sites I have looked on have some good tips but there is very little about bait, I was managing to hook some rag worm tail ends and tiny slivers of mackerel but i was wondering if there were any baits suitable for these size hooks that the critters would go for.
Please no wise cracks about using a kids fishing net, it would be easy with one of them but i want to use a rod and line:D

Your probably better off buying some size22or 24ready tied hooks to nylon (better than tying yourself) because they are so tiny.May wellbe maggots in the seaweed that has been washed up lately theres loads of weed at roker.

I find a small sized hook on a little jig head easier to get the bait on, Just a tiny bit of mackerel even the small isome
Tiny bit of isome m8 just like outcast says. Down the day at middens and th fish in rockpools were ridiculous I was down for mussel and they were jumping all over the place. Found 20 softies but no peeler :(:(
