Though i'd have a chuck after nearly two years of the gear gathering dust due to working and whatnot.
Got lug and rag from mcdermotts which was good quality and headed down to hebburn for a throw just near the boat launch to fish 2.5 hrs up to high water and and an hour or so down...
Fished one rod with a pennel clipped down in the middle(ish) and a two hook flapper closer in.
Caught 11 undersize codling/whiting/coalie mix. biggest a codling of 25 cm. (when I was going every other day I could never catch this many unless it was crabs!)
Even brought two fish in, one on either hook of the pennel, never had that before!
All in all not a bad few hours effort, I know its not everyones cup of tea not catching table fish but its better than nowt and i'd definitely give it a thumbs up for anyone taking their bairns out.
Also, brought in a heap of weed with 4 sinkers and hooks etc on which can never be bad.
Hopefully I can manage to get more time to get out and go back to my spot on hadston beach and manage not to blank in the future
