we have all been beginners so to help a little maybe what is your favourite rig you would recommend to beginners it must be a nightmare when looking in mags and see what some people use, my favourite which i still use at times and is a killer is the simple 1up 1down rig no beads or owt just loops to attach hook lgths too whats yours

Clip down pulley for me every time mate. size 1/0 hook and inpact shield jobs a good 'n

No mate - imagine your hook length attached by a swivel to your shock leader. The lead is then clipped to the shock leader above the hook length (with a bead to protect the knot/swivel)

Simple as a simple thing - you can also add beads to the snood if trying for flatties etc

2 hook flapper for river size 1 hooks , sea fishing pulley rig clipped down 2/0 3/0 /4/0 depends what time a year winter will be more less 4/0 pennel

As with codseeker above I use these when teaching the kids. Have the bottom flapper with a long snood (flattie rig). We seem to catch a lot when others around aren't
