never fished his mark before...can anyoone ehlp me with this mark ...when does it fish best summer? winter ? high tide low tide? best baits...any help would be aprreciated looks like a canny place with easy acces to the water as well....

Its a canny mark over winter at high tide on a good swell or as a big sea's dying away.

the first 2 bays are very rocky but some nice decent codling come from there,

Its clean most of the way up you've just got to negotiate the blocks at your feet when reeling in with a fish on
Or you can fish the middle where its quite clean and no blocks at your feet, av had quite a few codling from there during winter.
Or right at the far end, I've not fished that far up but think its rocky in places and there's been some canny bags from there.

Av not fished there during summer months but i cant see why the fish wouldnt be about

I've found best baits to be rag tipped with squid, asda's king prawns, and razor/blacks combination.

Cheers

Ya can fish it high or low water mate summer or winter ya will pick up codling flatties coalies and whiting usaual baits will work

Them big bolders are a pain in the ass but if ya fish the middle of the prom there is none there try and get down at low water cos the first few bays have some canny kelp beds and hole out there.

Hendon Prom is one of my favourite marks. Ideal time is the winter months when there's a good swell. 2hours up and 2 hours down tide. I agree the first two bays are rocky but can be full of codling. If you drive right down to the far end (most southerly) and can cast 70-80yrds out there's a good gully behind the sand bank that has some decent cod in there. Summer months, whiting, flatties. Word of warning, watch out for the spring tides. Me and a mate nearly got washed off a couple of years back. 3 rouge waves in a row. First one tooks us off our feet, 2nd and 3rd had us on our way to be fish food. All three took seconds to hit us. Soaking wet and laughing nervously we went home. :(

Bait wise, Rag, mackey sandeel works well for me, speak to Tony (I think that's his name) in Fishing Repulic, sound bloke and loads of tips of when where and what you need
