docks

hi m8, the docks can be the best fishing in the north-east when the water is away and the fish feeding. Unfortunately it can also be a nightmare trying to find fish when the water is calm, regardless of what bait you use. Most areas of the dock probably fish better over the low water mark i find [although some anglers may differ in there opinion]. i have fished the docks for around 20yr now and although i hav'nt caught anything massive, i have seen plenty doubles. The winter season is about bladdered now so you've probably missed the best of the fishing there [good to keep in mind for next season tho]. Most baits will fish when the conditions are right [nice and rough]. I usually opt for the pennel pully with 6oz gripper, slosh30 type reel with 30lb mono straight through and a good stiff rod just in-case you do hook into a good'un. Be warey of fishing alone there as it can be dangerous in rough weather, if in doubt ask someone about the safest places to fish when the water is rough as in the right conditions there is bound to be other locals fishing. Oh, and on a last note, you will be tresspassing as soon as you walk onto the dock as a fisherman, so be careful.
