hendon

anything that crabs like to eat is your best bet mate as thats all you will catch, and make sure you keep an eye on your car as it will be resting on bricks if you dont:o

as the rocketman said watch your motor,my m8 had his side window smashed in,theired nick the tyres off a jumbo if it flew low enough:D

Hendon wall/prom one of my fav marks to fish from the past but yer its doudgie with your car, seen them on fire the lot down there before.

Had,bass, doggie, whiting, flounder, codling, dab, eel, coalie and mackerel from there in the past, not fished it for over a year now as jacked shore fishing in.

Good luck, loads of whiting from the boats at the moment and i dare say the most i have seen in my lifetime, maybe because no cod to eat them at the moment.

Atleast when theres no fish theres something to keep you entertained. Saw a canny car chase the last time a was down this fiesta when down a hill where you wouldnt go down in a tank. Needles to say the police astra stopped and just looked over the edge.

its even better when you see them come over the top of the cliffs on fire:o
dont forget to go tooled up cos you might need it, better still wear body armour, and dont bring your best rod n reel as good chance you wont be going home with them, whoops nearl forgot if you have a geordie accent tyr not to speak to any of the gangs that roam about down there

Hendon Prom

Hendon Prom

hi am going down hendon tomorrow whats the best bait to use for this area and where are the best marks cheers

I Live fairly near Hendon Prom so tend to fish their or give it quick look over before deciding to go elsewhere. Best time to fish it, is when theres a bit of a sea on. You will probably find a few rods out when the conditions are right so therefore safety in numbers. The first four bays or the far end are the most popular shots if you can get a spot - Had no trouble so far as I fish next to the car - but woudn't fish a night session on me lonesome if no one else was about. Bit common sense really - Be safe.

Never had a problem down Hendon mate years ago it was as bad as people say but it's ok now, first bay as you come down the bank along side the broken stone jetty is a good spot to try.

I found the band stand fishes well when there is a sea running.
That's about half way along prom.
I don't really fish it until after Xmas I found it fishes better then.
Also I've fished there for years and never had any trouble.
Then again I'm from Sunderland 6ft and 16st that maybe why.
