had a little butchers down whitley bay the day lads lookin for somewhere ive not fished before, parked next to the Highpoint hotel (old night club/bar I think, closed now), it looked a canny spot so was just wondering if any of you lads have fished there before and whats it like? cheers.

Directly below the Highpoint, on the prom below, you've got the steps that you can use to get onto Whitley Pipe. You can fish all around the skeers at low tide - to the left you have the Old Pipe End and at the very north end of the rocks is the Eaters (only get on on a big tide & easy to get cut off if you don't know the mark!). To the right of the steps runs the pipe itself - you'll get roughly 2 down 2 up on a reasonable tide.

At high tide you can fish from the prom next to the steps - at this point the bay comes close enough that you can chuck over the pipe onto the cleaner ground beyond the ledges, but I'd say you want a chuck of at least 100yds to clear the ledges & give you a chance of getting gear & fish back up over the pipe.

Crawleys is just a few hundred yards south of the Highpoint, just on the corner of Browns Bay (by the old rock bathing pool).

And what about a bit further along lads going towards st marys, you've got a car park and a café/gallery and you go thru like a arch way?

That's the Rendezvous car park, main jumping off point for accessing Whitley Beach...many many marks down there!
