Hikaru low diameter line

Been messing about with low diameter lines recently and have got to say the best I have tried so far is the above. It's low memory and great breaking strains. 0.40 mm breaks at 33.51 lb and for £4 a spool of 275m it's cheap

i'm not knocking your findings but some of these very low dia lines fail when it comes to abrasion. the slightest scratch or knick and the line fails. also they tend to be very parralell meaning when going for a break they can part anywhere along there length sometimes leaving you with not enough line to carry on fishing.

I agree but at .40 mm it's thick enough to loose the problem of thin line snapping, giving it a go in the rough on Friday so will post my findings

Well tried it out this morning on a local rock mark had a few fish biggest around 3lb pulled out of a lot of snags, had about 15 casts lost 10 leads so rough enough line coped excellent

hi m8 how did you find out how it broke and b/s you said.

Yea would be good to test put I pulled out of some fairly bad snags and only lost one set that snapped at my leader knot never lost any main line

just imo were it breaks depends how it is lying rig body could be lying over a sharp edge or swivel could be trapped or just lead or hook.

need a good full proof method of testing b/s monos or braid to see what they come out at to whats quoted.

i mean how often we buy a spool on line and it states the dia but upon measuring it the dia comes out ,02 sometimes .04 bigger than stated but never under dia stated.

Yea the old put lead weight in a bag and lift it from the stairs hurts my back lol

To trips now seems the best low diameter line I have used pulled out of more snags snapping 50lb hook lengths with 80lb shock leader
