been talking to a lad from down that way last night first time i have spoke to him since casting comps down there in the eighties ie comps at east halton.
anyway he said he has been doing a lot of fishing recently he said most of reports of smoothounds were bull, what fish there has been has been mainly on the night tides day tides crap.
chapel point tends to fish better this time of the year. holderness fishes best for smoothounds may and june then they go.
Had a trip down two weeks ago, not a thing from 5pm until 4am. A bit of weed in the water but not unfishable, baits were being stripped in minutes by the crabs. I'd favour a trip north at the moment I think.
