Holiday Fishing

I am off to sunny Mallorca next week and was thinking about packing a cheap telescopic rod in my suitcase. Has anyone had tried a chuck while on holiday?
I am looking for advice on what methods/lures/baits and what would I be expecting to catch? Are there any poisonous little fellas I should be aware of?

Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

i have fished in majorca acouple of times on holiday and caught mullet and gilthead bream.i used bread on the float 2 catch the mullet and ledgered with bacon rind off my breakfast 2 catch the bream.all the fish i caught were small but did see a couple of big mullet caught by some locals.ive also caught mackeral,garfish and a triggerfish in portugal.

just buy a cheap rod over there. tie 4 or 5 small trebles on the line as close to the end as posible wrap the hooks into a smallish piece of bread and chuck it out .

Do you float these trebles or bottom fish?

just the hooks and the bread. if there is mullet about it will be attacked and you will either have a fish or no bread left.
