Bought a copy of Sea Angler :o Was off me own manor and walked into a newsagent, that stocks it, spied it as it was next to Das Kapital weekly (incorporating Mein Kampf) Walked out of the shop and realised the reason I had needed a copy was to look for mail order deals on a new rod and reel. I bought a new rod and reel 3 weeks ago :o my mind works in strange ways.

Anyway ..........An article about Bass conservation was illustrated by a picture of a shore caught bass with a git big hook hinging out of it\'s lip! Why do these high profile magazines show pictures of fish still attached to a hook or rig. We don\'t take pictures like that. Un-hook, photograph, keep or return in that order.

A lot of antis will know about Sea Angler, TSF being the biggest (only) sea angling mags and will monitor every scrap of information.

A while back Sea Angler did a photoshoot of Greenland Sharks and displayed a number of carcasses of these strange and placid creatures, bleeding on the ice. It was a horrible image. These pictures show one moment in a process that involves - Preparing, Finding, stalking, hooking, playing, landing, unhooking, photographing, tagging, weighing, stroking :o , releasing, keeping, cooking, sharing, eating. I\'m a poet and I just don\'t realise. Bad shot selection. And why do they continue to publish shots of people with double figure bass posing in their back gardens. I know we\'re not blessed with them up here but I thought the craic was you let the bigguns go, what with them being 35 years old and essential to the continued success of the species. It\'s like publishing photo\'s of blind people without crash helmets on in an Edition of \"People who can see who also wear crash helmets\"
