Horden beach access

Just wondering if the the lads who take their jeeps onto Horden beach to fish are aware that Durham council has fitted gates on the access roads to the beach so tthere is no way now to take vehicles down.Talking to a female council "meddler" down past skips about and she told me access was being stopped "due to men in 4x4s trashing the beach up".Dont know if anyone has questioned this action ? Bri

Spoke to council and its being closed due to the amount of fly tipping at the bottom of the bank. Apparently there has been lots of notices and discussions with local fishing clubs about the decision.
