got on the beach around 11, fair few people fishing, set up bottom of the dene, two rods out, big bait far as poss - squid stuffed with mussel, second rod two smaller hooks, lug tipped with squid and full prawn, took one coalfish about 20 mins after casting in on the rod with prawn then nothing, towards high took a whiting on the stuffed squid, nothing on the other rod, changed all baits to stuffed squid with lugworm on first, took in total 4 good size whiting and had many other bites which i could not connect with so assume they were small coalies or whiting, gave up at 04:00 as it had gone dead again, still someone right down the left of the beach at eassington end, hoped to see at least of codling but no such luck

At least you caught something maybe not the cod but outs better than nowt.
