Well what a good 2 weeks its been after having a cracking time fishing north wales seeing 24 species being caught and some cracking fish between me and the lads when i got back on sunday 17th i thought well that will be me NOT fishing for a week or 2 it wasnt the cases lol .
Tuesday saw me heading to loch fyne and etive for a couple of days but when i was there i had a phone call saying the hounds were coming on strong on the linconshire coast, it had me thinking oh no ive come in the wrong direction lol so off i headed home after a day and a halfs fishing, got back home made a few phone calls had some good info off a good source saying the hounds were in big number and big fish were being caught i dont no what it is after fishing for the hounds last year i just love fishing for these fish its fantastic the sport and fight you get off them and the biggest part is watching every single one swim back to live another day, well it didnt take much for me to convince myself to get down there i knew i had 2 days to have some good sport with them with westly winds being forcasted.
Early saturday morning 4am seen me and carl heading down there got down to the mark for about 7.30am quick bite to eat and off we went it wasnt long before the beach started filling up after we set up carl was the first one in to a hound his first ever and he sneaked it in the cheeky man what he is the smile on his face said it all it was only just over 5lb but a good start he thought he was going to struggle with him not being a distance caster i said to him stick in you will get more on the flood only the ebb and low water is where you will struggle it wasnt long before i was in to the hounds aswell my first being just under 6lb mark carl then got the next hound a personel best fish ever for him to date a nice hound of 8lb 10oz i manged to land a few more biggest being 12lb 2oz and a new personel best hound for me so was well chuffed the better fish seemed to come on the ebb for me but carl was struggling with the water empting out and not being a distance caster, i said to him dont worry we will stay and have a bash at the evening tide aswell we got caught in a massive thunder storm but that wasnt putting us off as we had spare change of clothing in the car, we left the beach and went for some dinner before returning for the evening tide, while carl was geting sorted i went for a chat with chris (macky) and his mate john nice meeting up with you again chris and john, both chris and john were into fish over low water the hounds just didnt seem to stop they were there through all states of the tide.
Well off me and carl went for the eveing tide but we only manged to get fishing to about 1 hour into the flood we were both nackered and with more heavey rain we were soaked again which was making things uncomftable for us only i manged 1 hound in that small space of time which was about 6-7lb mark so after a very long day we decided to head home carl over the moon with his 2 first ever hounds and cant wait to get back down there i finished off with having caught 5 hounds 1 being a double and a new pb for me so was quite happy with that so thats it til next time would just like to thank macky for all the info over the last few days mate we set off and got back home for about 2am this moring absolute shatterd when i got in.
