How deep is the North sea ?

Please let me clarify my question. What sort of range of depths might I encounter fishing on a boat heading out of the tyne ?

The reason I ask is that I have a partial spool (150m) of braid I would like to use and was wondering if it might be a bit too short for some areas.

Is there any really deep water to be encountered whithin an hour or twos steam of the Tyne ?

cheers

Jonny:)

Aye Jonny, as Tony says you have to be a long way out before you get over 200ft, in general we consider it a long way way down if its greater than 180ft, and that covers about 8 miles out from the tyne.
Most of the wrecks you`ll be fishing will be at about 140ft, but I expect Tony will fish quite a bit hard ground as thats where most of the fish seem to be at the moment, there it`ll be unlikely that you get past 100ft.
so .... I think a 450ft (150mtrs) spool will be more than enough
good luck on your trip out tomorrow .....

I have tied the braid onto some mono anyway so the spool doesent look so empty. Weather looks good for tomorrow, roll on 8.00am:D
