I never use cheap hooks or lures false economy

and bending hooks back after straitning is a silly silly idea

Disagree. Some shad hooks are designed to do just that

Best way to lose big fish is to NOT check your leader for nicks after drifting a wreck. Or use cheap mono, or old mono, dont set your clutch correctly....

We lose them all the time - never to a re bent hook.
