Managed to get away from work early and decided on a run up the coast. Sea looked great at Howick, pretty much perfect as I arrived half tide down. Commenced operations with big baits, crab and blacks, first chuck missed a bite, codling second chuck and I though we were in for a good night.
Sadly the gulley I was fishing dried out and with it the sea just died right off. First the rockling started showing so another move and then the crabs came out in force dragging baited rigs back to their snags.
Still, a decent night in surprisingly pleasant weather.
