Howick Haven and Sugar Sands

Not marks I've fished before so spent the day up there checking them out for sessions in the winter.

I know the Haven is a low water rough ground mark but question about the various bays between the skeers, Sugar Sands, Howdiemont Sands etc. Would you fish them on the flood from the bay itself or fish at low on the rocks to the side of the sands? I was thinking that on a good sea the rocks would give good shelter from the biggest breakers and it would be canny on the flood.

Robbo have a run up while theirs some settled weather and have a mooch round at low water and you will see where the gullies are m8 always fishes best low water up imo but have caught on the ebb before canny this time of year for the odd Pollock but some nice red cod also [crab killer bait] .Sugar sands top winter mark needs a big sea on

Cheers lads. Using Father's Day as an excuse to walk around up there again today with the bairns - scouting out around Howdiemont and Sugar Sands
