Had a drive along the coast today - the sea is HUGE !

As the forecast is for the winds to continue from the N.E., it doesn\'t look as if the sea will be dying off any before the NvS comp.

As many of us (particularly the \"South\" lads) will be fishing areas we\'re not too familiar with (or have even never fished before), I would urge everybody to be careful during the comp.

If conditions are bad and you don\'t know the rock mark you intend to fish - play it safe and fish a safe beach area instead.

Looks like my 1st choice mark will be out of the question if these conditions prevail.......so I\'ll be fishing a beach probably.

Remember....it\'s only a \"fun\" comp.........and definitely NOT worth taking any risks over.

just come off blyth west pier sea is massive, but no fish! seen a couple of 1lb -2lbers caught but thats it, wouldnt catch me on any of my favourite rock marks in that sea

The middle of Blyth beach, approx Meggies Burn to Seaton Sluice is unfishable and probably unsafe today .
Peeping Toms Rocks at Blyth is unsafe.
My mate travelled from North Shields to Blyth this morning and said most of the rock marks looked unfishable around Whitley Bay and Tynemouth.
Massive surf at Tynemouth Longsands as well.
Seaton Sluice Rocks were the same,he said the sumps at Seaton Sluice did\'nt seem to bad but was\'nt worth the risk plus it had been raining heavy :exclam:
I had a look along at high tide and a few of the proms around Whitley Bay and Cullercoats looked fishable, especially near Whitley Pipe.
Seaton Sluice looked ok but very rough, travel light and make sure you have a easy exit to safety :exclam:

cheers for that alan , i am on my way out in a bit , did you notice what the sea was like towards the bibles/ west bay .

ok cheers mate i will just go to blyth pier, not sure if i want the wife to have the insurance money just yet, will post a report if i get anything .
cheers mate .

think theree could be 86 of us opposite the rex hotel at whitley on sunday rofl , its 2 big for anywhere ese 2 fish tbh

its a very good shot over high water and there has been fish my m8 got a 6.5 lber off there a couple of weeks ago, tend not too fish it as im always out for low water, i cant stop laughing at my drunken spelling off last night ^^

Speaking of drunken, thats a problem with that mark you get alot of people coming along from the pubs and annoying you :D .

went out last night to blyth pier , missed the fish by about an hour , they seemed to come on after an hour of the flood , but disappeared as soon as i walked on the pier , i must be cursed LOL, on a different note i was extremely surprised to see that there was people fishing on cambois pier !!!!!!
complete nutters in my opinion, and no respect for there own lives not to mention the lives of the guys who work the lifeboat who would of braved the conditions for to rescue them.
