Watched 15 mins of programme up to now and i was mortified.
Did you see the damage the Scallop fishing does. The sea bed looked like Mars compared to the protected sea which looked fantastic and full of life on the sea bed.
No wonder the Scallop lads did not want any filming done.

Mick.

i watched it lastnight and yeah its a disgrace the damage that there doing! There not bothered though they just want to make as much money as they can

Thats why there are no fish left in the Clyde areaof scotland. Scollop Dredgers have destroyed all the breading grounds. Its a disgrace, they know the damage that is being done but choose to ignore it for the sake of a few quid.

yeah protected areas would be the way forward but theres already loads of damage been done! just need to protect the majority of the areas that ain't damaged

The sea is mans toilet and it should be respected. I remember talking to the captain of a tug who was dredging the walker area of the river a few years ago. They were taking the dredged mud / silt which was full of toxic **** from years of pollution and general crap from the ship yards etc. they took the dredged silt 3 miles out to sea and dumped it. Then the sand dredger dump sand on top of it. So basically they polluted the sea, with the ****e from the river.

Also prawn trawlers helped the emptying of the Clyde, plus boats under 10m netting for fish in the 80's. Totally disgraceful, it used to be a mecca for Cod. I live beside the Clyde and it is hard to believe that such an enormous expanse of water is devoid of fish. Scandalous!
