Anyone here fished at Ilfracombe at all ?
Been flicking through a brochure at me Mothers and found a section on Ilfracombe and it looks awsome. Looks like there are some great places to fish. Might give it a bash.
Anyone up for a couple of days down Devon way fishing ?

hi marinerkenny
have fished it a few times on holiday (croyde bay)
thats a picture of the old pier
new one is fenced off you have to go to the tackle shop in town and put a deposit about a fiver to get a key you keep it till holiday over then get your fiver back as for fishing it hit and miss
ive not caught out there but still learnning.
found this site http://www.geocities.com/armthorpe1/
emailed the lad about fishing crode bay informed been fishing wrong place all these years.
hope that helps email me if want more info

Cheers for that link Sean, will give it a good looking at later today ;)
Looks like it could be just what I need though. Awsome looking lace is Ilfracombe.
Any info you can give about the place is more than welcome mate

Kenny. boats tend to treat you as a tourist/novice, or the one I used did.
Not a lot of shore access at Ilfracombe, Try Porlock Bay for tope, Rays, Woody Bay, And round the cliffs at Lynmouth, 200mtrs right of the harbour, accesss at low tide round the point. Excellent tackle shop on Ilfracombe Harbour, Watch the tides, they rise up to 9 mtrs at Porlock and woody Bay.

Good Luck

Hi
I had a good days mackerel fishing from the end of the pier last summer, although you have to be aware of the huge numbers of yachts that are constantly in and out of the place. Also lots of doggies from Lynmouth.
The scenery down there is stunning and the people really friendly.

Doesn\'t Henry Gilbey do a lot of his fishing that way.Tony are you actually from Alnwick or is that just your handle. Don\'t you fancy joining the ASAC?

meant to Say, no tackile shop at Lynmouth, but if youre stuck the post office sells frozen sandeels. fair price too. and you cant fish Lynmouth at high tide. too shallow and rocky
email me on [email protected] Ill send you some pics of Lynmouth.
