Iv seen off the Aldi £20 rod n reel deal, it was probs worth a tenner but it served its purpose, I like sea fishing now.

Iv got about £70 to spend on a rod and reel and was wondering if anyone on here might know what I should avoid or possibly go for.

I know its not gonna be great stuff but something that wont fall apart that you can give a bit of welly would be fine.

I cant wait to get my gear, i know its cheapo but times are proper tight, iv seen umpteen combo offers within my reach but really dont my fladen from my foxes

please help me

before choosing a nice new rod have a look at the second hand section they have there. do you use a Fixed spool or a multiplier?

try bagnals on grey street as well.they have some canny combo,s.

im fixed spool all the way at the moment - there is too much to take in as it is without a new reel system

You could probably pick up a Okuma Interceptor or Longbow reel for around £30.00 to go with it.

You should also consider:

Leeda Assasin 12ft 3-5oz, fishing megastore do a combo deal for £80.00, I realise this is a bit more than you were looking to pay but it's worth considering.
