after watching the seven voyages of Sinbad for inspiration , we ventured on our first quest the land of the mackems insearch of the golden cod
after a few phone calls to ian we decided that there was a small weather window early this morning
6.00 gets a text from ian saying he is at south shields and thinks its a bad idea for quest
no chance to get out at shields with the forcast , so after a bit of driving we enter the LAND OF THE MACKEMS
after a bit of trouble trying to find some were to park , we get the yaks to the beach
there is only one thing that is going to keep us safe in this neck of the woods

nice flat sea to see us on our journey
we tried for about a hour drifting as the water was quite clear but no fish for our efforts
we headed out to 40 feet of water and anchored up , with not a lot of tide running ,we thought this isn't going to be our day
then we had a few missed bites ,the sea and wind started to pick up
then ian gets what we came for THE GOLDEN COD
as you can see the sea started to get a bit nasty , as if the gods were not happy that we had caught the golden cod
we headed in and called it a day
our quest was over
we let the fish go as we weren't sure if you can eat these mackem cod lol jeff
