Wanting somewhere to fish either thursday/friday after 11pm so will be fishing tide down and back up again
prefer to keep south of the tyne
if magic seaweed is to be believed its going to be rather big out there, more so on the thursday but still 9 foot on the friday
Tried a few places off whitburn/marsden when its been that big before and not been able to hold the bottom not even with a 8oz
Does anyone know anywhere fish-able apart from rivers?

Not technically the river, but I have found that the slab on SSP down from the Brigade Hut to the first gate is usually fishable in massive seas when everything else is unfishable. Usually a better hiding place in south easterlies. You will hold bottom in northerlies but you will have the wind in your face ;-(

The rocks on south side of shields pier fishing onto the beach or the south side of camels island fishing into marsden bay or the south side of whitburn steel fishing onto seaburn beach.

Gun pits and mudhole both Whitburn upto high water and 1 or 2 down. Fishing tide back try back of the doors or as already mentioned the Steele both seaburn.

thanks for all the suggestions everyone
going to have a look down tomorrow and see what where up against before deciding

Strong easterlies so any distance marks are a no go I would leave it personally when it's blowing in your face its hard work no were to hide its ment to be gusting up to 50mph but if your itching to get out the mud hole is as good as anywere at high tide
