Just back from a weeks holiday with my family. Had a week in Tobermory. What a lovely place. Surrounded by deep lochs and also fresh water Lochs.
Only managed to snatch a few hours here and there. Tried some spinning near a lighthouse 40 mins walk from Tobermory. Looked lovel water deep and crystal clear. Unfortunatly nee luck.
On last day found some bait for sale in the RNLI shop dried mackeral so bought a couple of packs and tried some ledgering in Tobermorey bay. Again nee luck.I was disappointed to el-blanko.
There was boat trips for Skate but they seemed a bit pricey so did not bother.
I was surprised local (expensive) tackle shop did not sell bait--but saying that there was literally millions of massive worm casts on loads of beaches.
The tackle shop in Oban where we got the ferry was well stocked but again no live bait just frozen blacks and macky etc.
The cold weather has knocked the fishing back a month according to the locals.
Oh well next hols in 9 weeks Cornwall-lets hope the spinners work there.
Mick.
