I have recently moved to Morpeth and would like to know more about sea fishing in the area. I usually target the large Bass around the Kent and Sussex coastline, so I now need to know about fishing the excellent beach and rock marks along the Nothumberland coast with the beaches at Cresswell as my starting point. Any advice regarding tackle, rigs, tides, bait, etc... will be gratefully received.

Welcome to nesa mate ..get your self into your local tackle shop(game fishing supplys in morpeth town center) the lads in there will keep you right what gear you need ;)

welcome to nesa mate, you will not find many big bass round the north east. but some good fishing marks and hopefully a few fish. like fishfinder says have a bit talk in the tackle shops and you will find out some info and keep an eye on the local papers and the catch reports on here. there is an open on tomorrow, the seaton sluice, pop along to the weigh in and see whats getting caught if you have the time mate:D

Many thanks.
